Faisal explained that the purpose of today's meeting is to find ways to coordinate and unify these efforts, and discuss how to take full advantage of the services and studies carried out by those centers. He added, "The threat of terrorism and terrorists is still existing and extending in many countries, which requires the necessity to combat it by all means and at all local, regional and international levels, indicating that terrorism threatens all people without discrimination and it causes undermining of economic and social development, which requires commitment of States to cooperate against the challenges of terrorism according to a long-term strategy which focuses on building capabilities, countering extremist ideology, fortifying the society ,and at the same time, prepare projects that undermine terrorists' schemes through the activation of coordination and partnership between specialized centers in the fight against terrorism to improve those projects and cooperate in their implementation. The Prince pointed to the Kingdom's support for the efforts of the United Nations and for the implementation of the global strategy to combat terrorism as an important international framework for States to confront the threat of terrorism that threatens the security and stability of the world. He praised the role of international centers to combat terrorism, which reflects the collective commitment and interest in the subject, noting the Kingdom's readiness for the exchange of experiences in the field of terrorism, rehabilitation and counseling. --More
