The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is set to launch a new Earth-observing satellite designed to continue missions documenting changes to the planet's glaciers, forests, and coastlines. Earlier this week, mission managers approved the Monday launch of the Landsat satellite from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California aboard an Atlas 5 rocket. The $855 million project is managed by the U.S. space agency and the U.S. Geological Survey.
