Venezuela's top prison authority says officials have found 106 firearms and more than 8,000 rounds of ammunition inside a lockup following recent riot, according to AP. Iris Varela says the weaponry was found inside the Uribana prison in the western city of Barquisimeto after officials evacuated and searched the prison in the wake of a Jan. 25 riot involving inmates and National Guard troops. The government has said that 58 people were killed. Nearly all of those were prisoners. Varela said Friday the weapons included revolvers, shotguns, submachine guns and assault rifles used by the military. -- SPA
