He said the Council's members should live up to the Council's resolutions on the same footing and without any exceptions and refrain from a two-measure weighing method and double standards which would otherwise undermine the credibility, continuity and effectiveness of the United Nations prestige. However, if our orientation is to tackle the structure of the Council only without touching the objective issues, including the demand to abolish the veto right, then what is most important as a preliminery phase is to make sure that the veto right is not used in future to override decisions previously taken by the Council, he concluded.
