At least 18 soldiers and pro-government militia members were killed in Iraq on Monday when a suicide bomber blew himself up as the group gathered in front of a government building, security officials said according to dpa. The bomber was wearing an explosive belt when he targeted the group of soldiers, who were queuing to collect their salaries in the town of Taji, about 25 kilometres north of Baghdad. About 50 people were injured in the blast.
