The International Monetary Fund estimated Friday that Greece faces a financing gap of between 5.5 billion and 9.5 billion euros ($7.3 billion to $12.7 billion) for 2015 and 2016 and said it had received assurances from Europe the aid would be forthcoming for Athens in the final years of its rescue by Europe and the IMF. It was the first time the IMF has estimated a range of possible financing needs for Greece's international rescue program beyond 2014. The European Commission estimated last month the money needed for Greece in 2015 and 2016 would amount to 5.6 billion euros ($7.5 billion).
