Germany on Wednesday offered two military transport planes for African troops fighting Islamist militants in Mali and said it would consider more requests from France and regional powers. Accordn to dpa, Chancellor Angela Merkel said she and French President Francois Hollande would discuss possible further support when they meet Tuesday to mark 50 years since both nations signed the Elysee Treaty. "Depending on the situation, we will make a decision," Merkel said, adding that her government would not shy away from seeking a parliamentary mandate if a mission required it.
