A Colorado judge on Friday postponed the arraignment of the man charged with a mass shooting at a US movie theatre in July, saying that defence lawyers needed more time to prepare their case, dpa reported. James Holmes, 25, was ordered Thursday to stand trial after a judge found sufficient evidence for the proceedings during three days of pre-trial hearings. Holmes was to have been arraigned Friday morning for the attack in which 12 people were killed and at least 58 injured in Aurora, Colorado, outside Denver. But Judge William Sylvester postponed the court date till March 12, the Denver Post reported. Holmes is to be tried on 166 charges of murder and attempted murder and could face the death penalty if found guilty. Police arrested Holmes outside the theatre immediately after the attack and then spent days defusing booby traps laid in his apartment. -- SPA
