SABIC: Furnace Fire Under Control in Yanbu Industrial City

A furnace in the aromatics plant of the Arabian Industrial Fibers Company (Ibn Rushd) in Yanbu Industrial City caught fire at 7:45 a.m. today as a result of a fuel leak from a pipe inside the furnace, the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) said in a statement.
"The fire is now under control. The accident did not result in any deaths or injuries as the furnace's fuel sources were cut off. The fire was completely extinguished at 2:30 p.m.," the statement added.
