Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is suffering from respiratory failure caused by a "severe" lung infection he contracted after his fourth cancer surgery, the information minister said late Thursday. Chavez's condition "requires strict adherence to treatment" but the government has confidence in his doctors in Havana, Minister Ernesto Villegas said.
