The U.S. House of Representatives and Senate began a new Congress on Thursday, re-electing Republican John Boehner speaker of the lower chamber. The 113th Congress convened in the Capitol at noon, the constitutionally mandated time. Boehner won a second two-year term as leader with 220 votes. Despite complaints among fellow Republicans, only 10 party members voted for someone other than Boehner.
