Boeing has signed a 6-billion-dollar deal to sell 60 of its upgraded 737s to Aviation Capital Group, the aerospace manufacturer announced Wednesday. The deal takes the number of Boeing's new narrow-bodied planes contracted for sale to more than 1,000, dpa reported. "Reaching 1,000 orders in just over a year's time from our first order" shows the aircraft's value for customers, said Bob Feldmann, vice president for the jet programme. "Customers are expressing confidence in our ability to deliver improved performance on schedule." Boeing's last all-new plane, the 787 Dreamliner, suffered a string of delays before its debut in late 2011, more than three years behind schedule. The 737 Max is scheduled to enter service in 2017, two years after the expected debut of its main competitor, the Airbus 320neo.
