A 29-year-old Australian surfer lost a finger and was bitten on his thigh in a shark attack Friday near Port Macquarieon the east coast, dpa reported. "It appears the shark has been identified as a bull shark,"Ambulance Service spokeswoman Michelle Hoctor told the national broadcaster ABC. A fellow surfer had paddled out to bring the injured man back to shore. Diamond Head beach, 366 kilometres north of Sydney, was closed after the mid-morning incident.
