The death toll from clashes in Kenya on Friday has risen to 30, with women and children among the victims of the latest episode of inter-tribal violence along the country's restive coast. The Kenya Red Cross said at least five women and five children were among those killed in the pre-dawn raid. Some 45 houses were torched when machete-wielding men attacked Kipau village in Tana River region. The emergency service sent ambulances, helicopters and medical supplies to help an estimated 30 injured villagers, spokeswoman Nelly Muluke told dpa. More than 100 people were shot, hacked and burnt to death in August and September, when tit-for-tat raids between members of the Pokomo and Orma groups reached its peak.
