Five Sailors Kidnapped off Nigerian Coast

Five crew members of a tanker have been kidnapped off the oil-rich Niger delta, the vessels' operating company said Wednesday.
According to dpa, armed pirates boarded the tanker SP Brussels on Monday some 64 kilometres off the Nigerian coast, and abducted five crew members after looting the vessel, Germany-based Medallion Marine said in a statement.
Those sailors who remained on board of the SP Brussels sailed on and on Wednesday arrived at the Nigerian port of Lagos.
The company has been working together with Nigerian authorities to ensure the release of the crew, it said.
