The official death toll from Tropical Cyclone Evan, which has ravaged Apia, the capital of Samoa, has risen to four, Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi said Saturday after touring Upolu, the worst hit of the two main islands. The cyclone was reported to be intensifying as it headed over the Pacific towards Fiji, where the Ministry of Information warned citizens to prepare for its landfall late Sunday, saying it could be the most powerful to hit the country in 19 years. Prime Minister Tuilaepa said police had confirmed that at least four people had died and news reports said at least seven others were missing, according to a report of DPA.
