At least 27 people, including children, were killed Friday when at least one shooter opened fire at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, various media outlets reported. The shooter, the father of a student there, was killed, CBS News reported. He had two guns, an official told AP, and CNN said the principal and school psychologist were among the dead. There were unconfirmed reports of a second shooter after witnesses reported hearing dozens of shots fired. If there was a second shooter, he or she is still at large, and police were searching cars and wooded areas around the school. Sandy Hook Elementary School, about 100 kilometers northeast of New York City, teaches children from kindergarten to fourth grade, or ages 5 through 10. Television images showed police and ambulances at the scene.
