Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior, said that the establishment of Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud International Award for Prophetic Sunnah and Contemporary Islamic Studies emanated from the interest of Late Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz (May Allah bestow mercy upon his soul) in the service of the two sources of Sharia, the Holy Quran and Prophetic Sunnah. In a statement on the occasion of the Award in its 6th session for the year 1434 AH, Prince Mohammed bin Naif said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been pioneering in taking care of the Prophetic Sunnah and has adopted the Holy Quran and Prophetic Sunnah as an approach and foundation for life and governance, pointing out that the patronage and support for the award by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince emanated from their interest in the service of Islam and Muslims in the context of their services and care for Islamic holy sites and strengthening the message of this religion, its moderation and appropriateness for every time and place. He noted that the Award's celebration in its 6th session under the patronage of Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense embodies the interest of the Saudi leadership in the service of the Holy Quran and Prophetic Sunnah.
