French President Francois Hollande is hoping for an agreement that makes growth and investment in common projects possible in EU budget planning next week, the Elysee Palace said Saturday. The statement followed a meeting between Hollande and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso in Paris. The financing of common agriculture and cohesion policies must be further supported, the statement was quoted as saying by DPA. France would support a budget that would not be "too extensive," but that will "allow for the financing of major European policies," Hollande said Friday during a one-day visit to Poland.
