A major power blackout in Munich on Thursday resulted in traffic chaos during the Bavarian capital's morning rush hour, dpa reported. With large areas of the city without electricity, the city's rail transit system was brought to a halt and street traffic lights stopped functioning. Officials were working to establish the cause of the blackout. Munich's fire brigade said it had handled a deluge of calls, including from people stuck in lifts in buildings. The power failure also set off fire alarms across the city.
