AlQa'dah 28, 1433, Oct 14, 2012, SPA -- Lithuania's opposition Social Democrats claimed victory in Sunday's parliamentary election, saying they had enough votes to oust the incumbent conservative government and form a new coalition, dpa reported. Although an official result is not due until Monday, the first exit poll, according to the BNS news agency, gave the left-wing populist Labour Party 19.8 per cent, the Social Democrats 17.8 percent and Kubilius' Homeland Union 16.7 per cent. Voters elect 70 members in the 141-seat parliament by proportional representation from party lists.
