AlQa'dah 20, 1433, Oct 6, 2012, SPA -- Yemeni authorities on Saturday thwarted a bomb attack at the country's largest air base in the southern province of Lahj, an official said on Saturday. "A car bomb belonging to Al-Qaeda organization was detected after it had been prepared by terrorists to attack Al-Anad air base," province governor Ahmed Abdullah told a state-run news website. According to dpa, Abdullah added that the car was packed with explosives and rockets. There were also military uniforms and women dresses for camouflage. The car was parked near the base where US experts are believed to be training Yemeni pilots to mount raids against suspected insurgents, according to local media reports.
