Munawarah, Dhu-AlQa'dah 16, 1433, Oct 2, 2012, SPA -- A number of thinkers and intellectuals in Malaysia have underscored the importance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud initiative for dialogue among followers of religions as the world is in dire need of such pioneering initiatives aiming at building a culture of international dialogue based on the values of tolerance, justice, peace and balanced moderation. In interviews with SPA over the last few days to highlight the international forum on the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud initiative for dialogue among followers of religions to be co-organized in Kualalumpur by the Madinah-based Islamic University and the Kualalumpur-based International Islamic University, they said the world needs such initiatives to build the gaps between people and cultures, given today's immigration and globalization. They said the leaders, planners and intellectuals of today should find ways to bring about peace, tolerance and security which help people to reach understanding between them. They suggested that the forum would lay the bases for a strong culture of mutual respect, moderation and understanding of each other. They cited the holy Quran and Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) as putting the bases for co-existence of different religions, races and cultures. They are Major General Datu Siri Jameel Khair bin Bahroum, Minister at the Malaysian Presidency; Dr. Zulaikha Gamar Al-Deen, Rector of the International Islamic University in Malaysia; Dr. Abdulaziz Barghouth, Deputy Rector of the Islamic University for Internatioanl Cooperation and Relations with Institutions and Society; and Dr. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Bilaihi, Religious Attache at the Saudi embassy in Malaysia.
