The Secretary General of Muslim World League (MWL), Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki, received at his residence in Bangkok today the Secretary General of World Conference of Religions for Peace in the United States of America, Dr. William Findley. During the meeting, Dr. Findley praised the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for dialogue among followers of religions, its impact on promoting the culture of dialogue and peace, and the roles of Saudi Arabia in strengthening world peace to serve the issues of the Muslim world. In a statement to Thai media in Bangkok this morning, Dr Al-Turki said that Islam is a universal message open to others and calls for cooperation, stability and security, but regrettably the enemies of humanity create conflicts and crises between societies, whether Islamic or non-Islamic, and one of the evidences of this is the film, which has been produced in America that is offensive to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and Islam; while Islam is open and fights offenses to any prophet or earlier religion and even cultures that do not belong to a religion if they have joint origins for cooperation. It is noteworthy that Dr. Al-Turki is attending in Bangkok the International Symposium on Religion and Peace Achievement in ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) being held in cooperation between Muslim World League and the Council of Interfaith Cooperation for Peace in Thailand.
