Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs received today a telephone call from the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, during which she congratulated him on the success of surgery he recently underwent and his recovery. During the call, they discussed a number of regional and international issues of common interest. Also, they exchanged views on the recent violence in some countries in the region due to the production of a movie offensive to the Prophet (peace be upon him) by an irresponsible group. On the occasion, Prince Saud Al-Faisal emphasized the Kingdom's strong condemnation and disapproval for the production of such insulting movie. He also stressed the principles contained in the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for dialogue among followers of different religions and cultures, and adopted by Madrid Interfaith Dialogue Conference that urged not to abuse, offend or vilify the religions, their representatives, and their symbols as well. At the same time, Prince Saud Al-Faisal also condemned acts of violence suffered by U.S. diplomatic missions, and any attack on any foreign diplomatic mission around the world whatever the reason is, citing the inviolability and immunity enjoyed by diplomatic envoys in accordance with the principles of "our Islamic religion first", and with international laws, conventions and treaties, whatever the differences.
