GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani condemned the terrorist explosion that rocked yesterday the Yemeni capital Sana'a, targeting the Yemeni Defense Minister while he was leaving the cabinet building. In a statement, he described the blast, in which many innocent civilians were killed and injured, as a cowardly criminal act that aims to shake up Yemen's security and stability. GCC Secretary General also reiterated the GCC full support to the Yemeni people and leadership to ensure success of the transitional phase towards more progress and reform. Dr. Abdullatif expressed confidence that such incidents will not hamper the Yemeni government's tremendous efforts in combating terrorism nor will they cripple the country's reform and development march. Al-Zayani called for concerted efforts by the Yemeni political groups to fight terrorism which contravenes the Yemeni People's principles as well as Arab and Islamic values.
