Director General of the Makkah branch of the Foreign Ministry Mohammed El-Tayyeb met here today with Burmese community delegation. At the outset of the meeting, El-Tayyeb briefed the delegation on the efforts being exerted by the Saudi government to improve their living situation and the role of the Kingdom's government in supporting their cause at the Islamic and international levels to coerce the Myanmar authorities to restore stability and national reconciliation in their country. For his part, the leader of the Burmese community Abu-Al-Shame Abdulmajeed thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his government for the noble and historic stand by the side of the people of Rohingya, including his generous donation of $50 million. He also thanked the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz; Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior; Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Governor of Makkah Region; and Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister, for their care of and interest in the cause of the Rohingya people.
