PLO Executive Committee Member Saeb Erekat Saturday called on US administration to Lift the ban imposed by the Congress on $200 million of US' financial aid to the Palestinian Authority. During his meeting with Representative of the Secretary-General to the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority Robert H. Serry and US Consul General Michael Ratney separately, Erekat stressed that the economic and financial crisis the Palestinian people are going through is due to the Israeli occupation's settlement policies, as well as not transferring the financial obligations to PA. According to WAFA, he asserted that the Palestinian bid to the United Nations doesn't contradict peace or signed agreements or international legitimacy, on the contrary, it reinforces peace and maintains the two-state solution within 1967 borders.
