Officials say a bomb has killed a local councilman and his body guard in southern Afghanistan. Uruzgan provincial spokesman Abdullah Hemad says the bomb was planted outside the home of the deputy director of the Uruzgan provincial council in the town of Tarin Kot. It was detonated Saturday morning when councilman Neymatullah Khan, his two sons and a body guard walked outside the house. The two sons were wounded in the blast, according to a report of the Associated Press. In eastern Afghanistan, police say four civilians were killed Friday when their car hit a roadside bomb in Zadran district of Paktia province. Deputy provincial police chief Mohammad Zaman says two other civilians were wounded in the bombing.
