Assaf highlighted challenges facing the Republic of Yemen in economic, financial, political and security fields. He noted that overcoming these challenges requires concerted regional and international efforts in assisting Yemen to find effective and appropriate solutions for them, to complete support for the humanitarian crisis, to address the problems of manpower and unemployment, and to promote opportunities for foreign investments. Dr. Al-Assaf said, "Emanating from its belief in the need to support the Yemeni people to overcome their challenges, and in its pursuit to support their aspirations and provide their urgent humanitarian needs, the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has provided financial aid to Yemen that exceeded $ 3 billion over the past five years." He pointed out that the aid of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Yemen was estimated, at the meeting of Friends of Yemen held in Riyadh last May, at $ 3.25 billion, including one billion US dollars deposited at the Central Bank, two agreements for two projects, a grant of $ 1.75 billion to finance development projects within the investment program, in addition to $ 500 million to finance and guarantee Saudi exports. --More
