President Mahmoud Abbas Wednesday welcomed the French judicial system's decision to launch an investigation into the death of late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, according WAFA. Arafat's widow filed a case against unknown persons in France on charge of Arafat's assassination. Abbas said the Swiss Radiophysics Institute agreed to examine Arafat's remains upon a request made by Palestinian officials. The Swiss lab is waiting for Arafat's widow's approval. Abbas expressed his confidence that an international committee to probe Arafat's death will soon be formed.
