An explosion rocked a family-owned leather workshop in east China's Zhejiang province Sunday afternoon, killing three people and injuring more than a dozen, local fire authorities said. The accident happened in a village in Guoxi township of Wenzhou city's Ouhai district about 4:50 p.m.. From 20 to 30 people were buried under the collapsed house and a fire raged in an area of 200 to 300 square meters, Xinhua quoted rescuers as saying. A total of 15 people have been rescued and many are severely injured. Three others died. More than 300 rescuers including fire fighters, police, local officials and residents are still searching for the people who remain buried. Workers with the workshop said the accident was caused by the explosion of a boiler. The exact cause of the accident is being investigated.
