French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said Tuesday that a full bailout for Spain might require the eurozone to boost its rescue fund or the European Central Bank (ECB) to intervene, dpa reported. Fabius' remarks come amid fears that Spain might need a Greek-style international bailout, on top of the rescue package already secured by the country's banks. "I hope it won't be necessary to intervene again. If we have to intervene again, it might be an increase of the firewall, meaning the protections, or interventions by the (European) Central Bank," Fabius told France 2 television. ECB president Mario Draghi has so far ruled out the bank intervening massively to buy up Spanish debt. Eurozone governments have also shown reluctance to increase the bailout fund.
