Prime Minister David Cameron arrived on a unannounced visit in Afghanistan Wednesday, repeating his pledge that British combat troops will be withdrawn from the country by the end of 2014, dpa reported. Speaking at Camp Bastion, the British headquarters in Helmand province, Cameron praised the progress that had been made in handing over security responsibility to Afghan forces. Out of the three areas controlled by British forces two were now in transition, and a third was about to go into transition, said Cameron.
