Wildfires have swept across 1,592 hectares in Russia's Far East over the past 24 hours, the forestry department of the Far Eastern Federal District told Itar-Tass on Tuesday. Firefighting teams liquidates six of the 37 fires and localized another 11. The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), where over the past 24 hours wildfires have increased by more than 1,000 hectares to exceed 5,300 hectares, and the Khabarovsk Territory, where wildfires range across 900 hectares remain Russia's most problematic regions. Wildfires are also sweeping across the Amur and Magadan regions. Experts say most of wildfires were caused by lightning storms. From the beginning of the season 1,910 wildfires spreading across 144,200 hectares have been reported in the Far East.
