The Chief of Staff of the North Korean army, has been dismissed, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported Monday. Ri Yong Ho, who headed the army since 2009, was removed from all of his posts including membership in the presidium of the ruling Workers Party, Yonhap cited North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) as reporting. KCNA said the decision taken Sunday was due to an illness, but did not provide details or say who would replace him. The Unification Ministry in Seoul described Ri's sudden departure as unusual, according to a report of DPA.
