U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Friday said he was “outraged by reports of horrific mass killings yesterday in the Syrian village of Treimseh in Hama." Ban Ki-moon said a team from the U.N. observer mission in Syria positioned outside the village confirmed shelling and saw helicopters in action as well as the presence of Syrian armed forces manning government checkpoints near Treimseh. “The Syrian government must halt this bloodshed and recognize that armed confrontation is the wrong course and must end now," the U.N. chief said.
