France's President François Hollande called on Russia and China today to change their positions towards the Syrian crisis and support the UN move to impose tougher sanctions on Bashar Al-Assad's government. In a press statement, Hollande said "seeing people dying every day is because the regime has decided to use force to crush his people". On the sidelines of a military celebration in Paris, he said "I, frankly say to Russia and China that doing nothing to stop the Syrian regime from killing its people is actually allowing it to continue war and chaos in Syria, thus harming their interests".
