Thailand's 84-year-old king has canceled a planned trip outside the hospital where he's stayed for more than two years after suffering a brief health crisis, AP reported. A statement issued by the royal palace said that King Bhumibol Adulyadej had twitching in his right hand and a slightly increased pulse rate Thursday evening, and that a scan of his brain found bleeding in the outer membrane. According to the statement, the king was given medicine intravenously and recovered Friday morning, with a normal pulse rate and blood pressure and no more twitching of his hand. It said doctors urged him not to take on any duties for a while. The king had been scheduled to visit a development project Sunday in the western province of Ratchaburi. -- SPA
