ASEAN-Sponsored Regional Forum Kicks Off

The regional forum sponsored by Association of South Eastern Asian Nations (ASEAN) kicked off here today.
Addressing the foreign ministers of ASEAN member states, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton emphasized the role of ASEAN in keeping the region united.
The forum is focusing on how to deal with China's claims of sovereignty of the South Sea of China, an area where a number of member states claim, similarly their sovereignty over the disputed isles.
