Romanian Parliament Votes To Impeach President Basescu

The Romanian parliament voted Friday night to begin impeachment proceedings against sitting President Traian Basescu.
The vote to impeach is the climax of a power struggle between the president and Prime Minister Victor Ponta, according to a report of DPA.
A public referendum on Basescu's impeachment is now likely within 30 days.
