A U.S. Air Force cargo plane crashed in the Black Hills of South Dakota while fighting a wildfire, officials said Monday. According to officials, there has been no official report of death or injury. U.S. Northern Command said the C-130 crashed Sunday while it was dropping fire retardant on the blaze. Six people were on board, said David Eaker of the Great Basin Incident Management Team. The Rapid City Journal reported that Fall River County, South Dakota sheriff's officials said three crew members were taken to a hospital. All eight Air Force C-130s that are equipped to drop water or fire retardant were dispatched to Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado last week to fight massive wildfires in the region.
