The Saudi Embassy in Niger has filed an appeal suit against two Malians who were convicted of killing four Saudis and seriously injuring others on 11/01/1431H. in a village near the border with Mali. In a press release today, the Saudi Embassy said the Criminal Court in Niamey sentenced Hassan Ould Mohamed and Hadi Omsara to twenty and ten years in prison respectively, and ordered them to pay financial compensation equivalent to $300,000 for the family of the victims and $200,000 for the injured. The Saudi Embassy also said that the sentence does not comply with the heinous crime committed by the culprits as well as the damage they caused to the injured and their families. The Saudi Embassy demanded the relevant authorities in Niger to apply the maximum penalties against them.
