U.S. stocks closed higher Tuesday, as investors felt relief from Greece and were optimistic that the Federal Reserve (Fed) might act to boost the economy at the end of its two-day meeting. The dollar was slightly lower than the euro, the yen, and the pound. Light sweet crude oil for July delivery moved up 75 cents to $84.03 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold futures fell $3.90 to $1,623.10 an ounce. The Dow Jones industrial average gained 95.51, or 0.75 percent, to 12,837.33. Shares of JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Citigroup were all up between 2 percent and 5 percent. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 13.20, or 0.98 percent, to 1,357.98. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index moved up 34.43, or 1.19 percent, to 2,929.76.
