Vice President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China has congratulated Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his selection as the Crown Prince and his appointment as Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense. In a statement, the Vice President said "In recent years, under the joint efforts between the two sides, a friendly relations strategy between China and Saudi Arabia has been developed comprehensively on a fast track and with continual high-level exchanges between the two countries. "Moreover, the two sides have deepened mutual political trust day after day, and promoted ??cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy, security and human resources, which will be fruitful (in future too)." The Vice President said "China attaches great importance to developing relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and aspires greater development in the friendship between the two countries."
