President Hugo Chavez of the Republic of Venezuela expressed, in his own name and on behalf of the Venezuelan people and government, deep feelings of grief and sorrow at the death of late Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. A statement issued by the Embassy of Venezuela in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia said that the Venezuelan President shares the Saudi people and royal family their sorrow and sadness at this difficult moment and extends his condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and all members of the bereaved family. The statement pointed out that the Embassy of Venezuela in Riyadh has decided to suspend its celebration of its country's National Day until further notice.
