Bahrain's Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Regional and GCC Affairs Hamad Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Amer voiced Bahrain's extreme surprise and condemnation of Former Iranian Ambassador to France Sadiq Kharazai's statement, which was reported by Fars News Agency. The statement was described as a transgression of the rules of diplomatic work, a breach of the diplomatic etiquette and a sign of political recklessness and provocation that confirms the spirit of haughtiness and hostility shown by some Iranian officials towards Bahrain. In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Al-Amer said it would have been better for the Iranian official to mind his country's affairs and that showing off his country's power wouldn't help change the real image of the Iranian regime which abuses the simplest principles of human rights for the Iranian people and other ethnic groups there. "Working for peace, cooperation and co-existence between Iran and the GCC countries is more effective than these statements and threats which in no way help build confidence for a better future for all peoples in the region," he asserted.
