U.S. President Barack Obama Saturday offered his condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the royal family and the Saudi people upon learning of the passing of Crown Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior. "On behalf of the American people, I would like to offer my deepest condolences to King Abdullah, the royal family, and the people of Saudi Arabia," President Obama said in a statement. President Obama said that Crown Prince Naif dedicated himself to the security of Saudi Arabia and the region. "Under his leadership, the United States and Saudi Arabia developed a strong and effective partnership in the fight against terrorism, one that has saved countless American and Saudi lives. Crown Prince Naif also strongly supported the broader partnership between our two countries begun by his late father, King Abdulaziz Al Saud, and President Roosevelt in their historic meeting in 1945," President Obama said.
