Two firefighters were injured as hundreds of reinforcements were called in to battle a wildfire that was threatening several residential areas south-east of the Greek capital on Saturday. According to dpa, a home for senior citizens was evacuated, as were dozens of other homes, as gale force winds were fanning the blaze, which was quickly spreading from the residential area near Keratea along the Saronic coast of Attica. Authorities said the strong winds have prevented the use of firefighting planes.
