Officials say torrential rains have triggered a landslide at a mountain resort in central Taiwan, killing two laborers in a makeshift shelter. Nantou County official Hung Feng-chiao says one other worker was rescued from the mud-buried shelter Monday at the Mountain Lu resort. Officials say 200 tourists were evacuated from the resort, which is known for its hot spring, according to a report of the Associated Press. Television reports say another landslide buried a section of a Nantou highway on Sunday night, stranding 1,000 people in several tour buses. The Fire Department says more than 2,000 people have been evacuated from central and southern Taiwan due to widespread flooding caused by two days of torrential rains.
